Trauma Recovery Therapy

Before starting therapy, most people who have been through trauma feel stuck or broken. You may notice anxiety, depression, or feel on edge and super aware of everything around you.

Types of Trauma I Specialize With

Complex trauma (such as domestic violence, childhood assault), sexual assault in intimate relationships, and childhood trauma among others.

Understanding

First, I will help you understand your symptoms and explore your family history from an attachment perspective in order to help you understand why you are responding to things the way you do.

Skills Development

We will identify any skills needed to help you recover when you may get activated so that you feel more in control

Recovery

We will use EMDR and other methods to help you recover and move forward from those events that have made you feel stuck

Therapy can help lessen the impact of painful events, process loss, learn coping skills, and enable you to achieve the life you desire.

Trauma Recovery

You have been struggling. Something has happened that has left you feeling broken and unable to move forward. You may not be able to pinpoint the moment things changed, but life is not what you want it to be. All you want is to feel normal. Experiencing these events can scare you, change your views on the world or yourself, or even leave you feeling just…different.

Traumatic experiences impact many parts of your life. Some of these include:

  • Impacts to the body such as headaches, difficulty sleeping, weight changes, stomach problems

  • Sudden and vivid distressing memories

  • Anxiety attacks, sadness, feeling different from others

  • Sexual problems, relationship instability

  • High sensitivity to others body language and tone

  • “Zoning out” when emotions may start to rise

  • Difficulty regulating emotions

  • Being critical within relationships or pushing others away

Recovery from trauma is my specialty. I love helping individuals find their strengths, learn coping skills, and find joy in life again. The road to this place is not easy and looks differently for everyone; however, it is so worth it to own your story, rediscover your strength, and reclaim your life. I would love to help you on that journey.
