Trauma, even childhood trauma, can impact your ability to move around and interact in the world in the way you would like. Trauma can have a significant impact on your most important relationships. I have a unique understanding of this and would love to help you on your healing journey.

Couples Therapy Services

Trauma and Couples Therapy

If you or your partner have ever been through something traumatic, it can have significant impacts on the relationship. Couples therapy can help heal PTSD symptoms.

Types of concerns I most commonly work with

Communication problems, decreased intimacy, emotional distance, feeling like you are just roommates, overall connection, reconnecting after trauma (even if it was childhood trauma)


Assessment

I use a three session assessment and an online questionnaire to help identify all the underlying problems and struggles so that we know exactly what to target. Think of this as the testing to know what the problems are.

Learning

After we finish assessment and planning, we will begin the process of identifying and changing patterns, learning needed tools to increase connection, and using skills learned outside of the session to continue positive change

Reconnect

Start to reconnect with your partner in ways that you may have never thought possible. Continuing the work learned in therapy.

Trauma Recovery Therapy

Before starting therapy, most people who have been through trauma feel stuck or broken. You may notice anxiety, depression, or feel on edge and super aware of everything around you.

Types of Trauma I Specialize With

Complex trauma (such as domestic violence, childhood assault), sexual assault in and out of intimate relationships, and childhood trauma among others.


Understanding

First, I will help you understand your symptoms and explore your family history from an attachment perspective in order to help you understand why you are responding to things the way you do.

Skills Development

We will identify any skills needed to help you recover when you may get activated so that you feel more in control

Recovery

We will use EMDR and other methods to help you recover and move forward from those events that have made you feel stuck

    Offering telehealth sessions to those in North Carolina increasing access to quality services, adding convenience, and allows you to be in a familiar space decreasing possible anxiety.

    Hours:

    Monday and Wednesday 10am-5pm;
    Tuesday and Thursday 10-12,

  • In person appointments (see below)

    In person appointments provided in Garner, NC. In person therapy allows for a neutral space, nonverbal communication to be a part of the process, and can improve the overall experience.

    Tuesday and Thursday 10:30-5:30
